Planting the Seeds of Knowledge

"Education is like seeds planted in a garden. In order to produce the best harvest, one must plant the seeds, care for them, provide for their needs, and then enjoy the rewards of their efforts. " ~ Author Unknown

Week 6 Reflection – Learning Is Messy

The blog “Learning Is Messy” is a great example of how technology can be used to enhance a classroom. Mr. Crosby not only uses technology in his 1:1 classroom but also uses it to communicate with his students, document their work, and share it with parents and others. There are links on the blog to his students work, their class blog, and a class wiki page. My favorite link is the class blog because I like the examples of projects that they have done and the pictures they have shared. There are entries on the page from the students that are creative writing projects which are very entertaining to read. On Mr. Crosby’s main blog, there are many tips and ideas for new teachers that I have read through and feel will be useful in my first year or so of teaching. He also discusses some concerns about teachers getting the support they need and it is nice to see there is an outlet for things like that, though I would be hesitant to do the same on my own blog while I had a teaching job. Overall, “Learning Is Messy” is a great resource and fun read that everyone should take a look at.
